Cheap Watt Meter Accuracy Testing

In this video I do some basic accuracy testing on an RC power analyzer. In conclusion these things aren't the most accurate but they are good enough for basic measurements.

The shunt in the watt meter is dropping some voltage. You should be measuring at the input not the output.

I see that you never tested it while powering it with a separate power source . That is what the extra connector on the side is for. Maybe redo this test and this time power the unit with a separate power source to see if the results are different. I am interested to see if it would make a difference. But is the reliance on the DMMs justified? Where is the traceable calibration for any of them?

100a is max peak and cont is max 50. This is as per manual. Take both still with a grain of salt.

I need to get some DC buck converters and led tapes. what are the specs on the LEDs I need to run 12 volt led tapes from a 7 cell bank of liion. so there could possibly be 30 volts. I'm just wondering if the small buck converters sold on amazon. good for about 3 a. will work. and I'm thinking about the rc amp meter for total discharge. great ol video. I was curious about the 100a claim. I'd say 60 contentious amps is all it needs. is that 8 or 10 gauge cable used in it?

Is it only measure the Ampere-Load? Not Battery Capacity?

Any calibration pots inside it? I think the current range may be more accurate when there is 10+ amps going through it.

Finally figured out that this unit can be used to read 12V battery charger output volts and amps. Source side connects to the charger leads and the load side connects to the battery you want to charge. For this purpose, I'm fine with ballpark readings.

I purchased one of these meters to use Capacity Testing 18650 batteries. Good Enough for me.
