Chopin Nocturne Op.20 in C Sharp minor-Yundi Li

As a Chinese pianist, Li Yundi is most well known for being the youngest pianist to win the International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition, in 2000, at the age of 18.

You hear these sounds, they sound like pearls glistening in the sun.
At first they are shy and gentle, and then like a powerful thunder that suddenly goes out. It's Chopin's music, you hear the silence that Chopin plays ... it's a genius ...

God, this piece is so ridiculously beautiful. I feel like 'beautiful' doesn't even quite describe how I feel about this piece. I can't find the words to describe it, but it's one of my favorite pieces by Chopin, and Chopin is one of my favorite composers. It's played so exquisitely here! It's a piece I would love to play myself sometime.

I think chopin wrote this as practice for his piano concerto no. 2 . If you haven't heard I highly recommend that you do.

I love this piece, it is just really beautiful and sublime (Is sublime even the right word?). I just feel the grief and sadness about Chopin. This is also my favourite Chopin piece. Also, the runs at the very end are just continuous. Li Yundi did a beautiful job of interpreting this Nocturne.

I like your trills, they sound natural and attractive like continuation of the melody which is difficult to do. Most pianists cannot do it, even famous ones. So bravo, Yundi Li. Your performance is simple and beautiful like I would emagine Chopin would play.

Played this in a concerto last year, was magnificent, because of its slow rythm you are able to play it with so much emotions ..
