Crosby drops the gloves... IN PRESEASON?!

I think Crosby probably thought the hit was worse than it was - Letang is also coming back from serious health issues last year so I suspect that came into play.

I've never been a Crosby fan but things like this get my respect. It was the other player, Jost, that threw a cross check as the guy was going down from the hit, and yeah, Crosby standing up for his team mate against either player (Jost deserved it more) was worth it.

As a Pens fan, its certainly not what you wanna necessarily see Crosby doing, especially in pre season, but its yet another thing that shows how awesome he is.

Something I really want to see actually enforced this year is the instigator penalty. No one should need to drop the gloves for a clean hit.

Crosby's strong and smart, knows not to throw hands due to possible injury and previous concussions but gets the point across like a big brother and outmuscles whomever he fights, almost always in the dominant position when it goes to the ice. Low center of gravity, very strong lower end and on skates and strong wrists, if he wanted to he could dummy some dudes.

yeah i hate that every hit results in a fight. not sure what would stop it. i don't really like the idea of refs governing it by giving an auto misconduct to that crap, but eh...i dunno
