In just a few years, TEd has come a long way from banning Graham Hancock's talk on psychedelics to releasing numerous talks by many speakers on the subject.

I’ve taken ayahuasca a few times and it’s the most incredible experience I’ve ever lived. I can’t believe how conscious I’ve became of my conciseness

Wow, what a line

Great job! It's awesome to have an intelligent voice out there speaking about the non-medical side of positive psychedelic use.

ThIs was a fascinating talk - it opened my mind not only to the immediate effects of psychedelics (as i have never tried them) but also to the positive effects that can come from them, and the number of famous people who have used them to broaden their consciousness.

This is my first contact with Peter Sjöstedts work. As a regular Ayahuasca user I can only say that from my perspective he is spot on in many aspects he mentioned in his discussion. In fact it was so profound or meaningful that I will further dive into what he has to say. I must say that I am a science oriented person myself and don't find much direct meaning in more esoteric models which describe psychedelic states, except maybe in a highly metaphorical way.
One of the re-occuring images I have during my Ayahuasca journeys is a very strong feeling that the answers to most questions regarding the existence of our cosmos are to be found within ourselves, not the outside (although the latter is important to get the whole picture). And by the unique way our brain and our psyche is organized we have the potential to eventually get down to the bottom of it. Or at least maybe near it, like squaring a circle.
Thank you Peter, for your work on that, and for being a driving force to bring these important matters into scientific realms.

Dr Peter Sjostedt Hugues is probably one of the most interesting and promising philosophers alive today. One to watch.

The psychedelic experience shatters the materialist view of existence. It certainly did for me, but took many years to accept. Excited for more scientists to experience this and finally open the scientific community to a deeper understanding of reality. From being on both sides I can tell you we are in desperate need.

6:22 Humphry Davy was right.
This is a very well argued, entertaining and much needed presentation. The metaphysical implications of psychedelics and consciousness cannot continued to be ignored if we are to be unrelenting seekers of truth.

I 100% mean to brag but I did a podcast with Peter shortly before he did this talk and in this talk he used a piece of art from the co-host of my podcast. Thank you Peter! 😊

Excellent talk, in my youth (I'm seventy now) I knew that there was a future for psychedelics but everyone thought I was insane.I dropped a shitload of acid and it did me no harm and it's true when John Lennon said that you'll never be the same thank God for that. The first thought that came to me was "We are One".

The work of "philosophers of extreme & direct experience", like Sjöstedt is more valuable than most are aware of. I salute you!

As one who has recently started microdosing small doses of mushrooms after doing some research microdosing small doses of mushrooms has done more for me than any antidepressant medications have . I've also noticed some some changes in my cognition after sustaining a traumatic brain injury years ago from a automobile accident

Well spoken & couched in the voice of one documenting the unexplainable truth that is One voice, not many separated egos, but one transcendent whole. The plants have mind, voice, spirit & speak clearly creating actual spiritual metamorphosis. Love is the only answer to this worldview of fear. I have seen & heard, love is the answer. Namaste. Thou art God.
