I've gone back to an Astra VXR after numerous VWs including the Mk5 R32, Mk6 R, Mk7 R, an Audi RS4 and a V8 M3...My Astra H VXR was probably the most reliable and the Astra J VXR has put the fun back in to driving. Weird huh?

I got the non vxr gtc 165 with 350Nm in emerald green. it handles very well indeed and pulls like a train when going. 0-60 is 7.9 not the fastest, but it's torque is all midrange and that's when you use it most.

Why to British reviewers always compare Vauxhall to German cars?
Vauxhalls have been virtually identical to Opel for decades.
You know Opel...a well known German car!

I brought the gtc 2.0 turbo diesel and love it. Handles really well and as tons of power, vauxhall have made a winner if you ask me.

I own an Astra J VXR, and one thing I can say is that it is a nice looking hatch, with performance to match. If it wasn't for badge snobbery, it wouldn't be in the shadows of the likes of the GTI's, BMW's & Audi's..

This is very good looking car with beauty that is skin deep. I driven this bad boy I was mightily impressed. Makes a golf GTI or Audi RS 3 look and feel like a briefcase

I so want this car here in America!!! I bought the Saturn Astra, and I have never loved a car as much as I have with it. This car also comes in the way that I want a hatchback to be, as a three door, not a five door. Love that the ST cars are finally over here, but please GM send this one over!!!

got this in 2014 1.6t 200ps dropped aftermarket filter init and debadged with wind deflectors atm not sure what's next. but v sexy cars to look at from the rear and the difference in the drive with just a filter change is pretty mental totally changed how the turbo spools up the car feels ALOT more free to breath like comparing 20 years smoker vs non smoker difference

I've driven one, mental car, crazy fast. Not too bad priced either about £18k second hand

never had to much of problem with torque steer on my astra vxr and if i did well hold onto the steering wheel problem solved.

If you think the older VXR had bad torque steer, you should have driven the South African only production of the Opel Kadett 200TS, that thing made the torque steer in the older shape VXR look mild...

i dont think Vauxhall's are boring in the slightest i mean every Vauxhall has a very different look and to me they all look great. Were also forgetting that Vauxhall have the VXR8 GTS which pumps out 578bhp (more than a Ferrari 458) which came out late last year also the VXR Astra to me looks better and is more powerful than most other hot hatch yet!

I've got a corsa vxr and this is my next motor in a few years. Hopefully they might have a new even better model out by then! :)
