Agios Ioannis Beach – Lefkada Greece

Agios Ioannis Beach is located just 2 km west of Lefkada Town, making it the closest beach to the town. The well-organised beach offers sunbeds and umbrellas for visitors to relax and enjoy the beautiful sea view. Old windmills in the area enhance the beach's unique and charming atmosphere. The beach has a gorgeous turquoise colour of the sea, but fewer visitors are swimming because of the almost constant wind. That is the reason why this beach is so popular among surfers. Therefore, you could enjoy watching the skills of experienced surfers all day long. Kitesurfing usually takes place in front of the windmills that stand along the right side of the beach because the wind is more stable there while windsurfing is mainly practised on the left side, where the winds soften. This particular beach is divided into three sections: Gira, Mili, and Agios Ioannis. These three beaches are part of the same beach, about 3km long, with three different names for different parts. The beach is easily reachable by car; it is located next to the road, with a lot of parking space.
