_____________
The "comedian" John Oliver's take on trans issues is so wrong and tone-deaf that JK Rowling is now calling him out. I break it down in this episode of the Brad vs Everyone podcast. Plus, a TikToker's vile rant towards pro-Trump women and is Trump's mass deportation plan going to work? As always, I round out the show with your comments.

Oh! And the whole "there aren't that many trans athletes!" is a ridiculous argument; even one single girl who misses her well-deserved moment, award, or safety is one too many.

You know what would actually be really cool & respectable? If a trans woman still competed in the male catagory & did well despite the disadvantage that would probably come from HRT. _That_ would actually be something worth praising.

I'm not religious, and it's hard to tell if that woman's necklace is actually a cross (looks that way though)...but it sickens me that she sits there holding it while wishing so much harm on people, including innocent children. What a truly disgusting human (regardless of religion).

There's already a pattern of trans athletes from high school to universities to the Olympics, so dismissing it because the pattern or percentage isn't large enough should be concerning. We don't want that pattern to grow to the point where it becomes out of control. Many individuals, from trans and non-trans, are recognizing the pattern now, so the slippery slope doesn't become slippery.

That's why WE ARE trying to address it now!

How can he say it's a non issue when we've literally had a male Olympic boxer (🇩🇿) win a gold medal in the female category?! The highest sports competition worldwide. I'm done with this people 🤦🏻‍♀️

Real women matter. We already fought this battle and won. This is ridiculously regressive. Why must we take a knee to men's will again? Sure, it's not as important as ending pointless war, however, our freedoms affect those in other countries. We give those women hope. This is still an important matter.

Yeah, tell that to girls that have gotten their teeth knocked out, a concussion or lost a competition or a scholarship. I’m so tired of people trying to justify this. Save our girls and kids!!!

No threat to safety? Maybe he needs to tell the girl that has permanent spinal issues?

As a legal asylum seeker in Canada my question is what is stopping these people from seeking asylum legally? If there continues to be all these acceptions because Americans have relied on foreign labour from illegals for their economy and now the country is unable to run without them. I have seen it become a big issue here. There are so many immigrants taking jobs from Canadians and now teenagers aren’t even able to get introduced to working. Americans need to empower themselves first. This could be the radical push they need but it needs to be done well and slowly so people get accustomed to relying on themselves.

If it isn’t as big a deal as they want to believe that it is, then why are they so opposed to banning it? 🤔

I still think it's wild you can sneak into the country, have a baby and it's suddenly an USian baby... that law is demented honestly...

Maybe these families should have thought about all the things that could happen, like being separated from their family, BEFORE they broke the law and entered this country ILLEGALLY. It breaks my heart that not everyone has the privileges we do here in American but I am tired of being told to worry about everyone else, before and besides the actual law abiding American citizens. The People who actually pay into the taxes and are drowning in this economy barely even keeping food on the table. All while we are told to basically "have a heart" for those who broke the law, entered knowingly, and are NOT contributing in the same way citizens do. Period.

I hear you about the mass deportation thing, but you are coming at it differently than others do.

First and foremost, those families you are concerned about wouldn't have to be seperated, they could go together, is that fair? No. Is it fair they should be allowed to stay here illegally? The wrong needs to be corrected one way or the other, keeping the family together in their place of origin (the illegal one's place of origin) is preferable. The children won't lose their citizenship, and the parents are welcomed to come back legally, and if they can't the child is welcomed to come back when he comes of an age to do so.

the only result isn't split up families. There are a lot more options than that. That is only the most distasteful. But functionally it isn't much different than moving to a different state when the kid has friends in high school. It's the same level of fairness to the child.

and as far as the ecnomy is concerned, you have to understand that these illegal workers are played slave wages well below minimum wage. And guess what? If they got fair wages, or God forbid living wages, it would have the same effect on the economy due to the rise in prices of the goods they produced.

so again, the choice isn't hurt the economy or not. The choice is do you want these people to live like slaves for almost nothing because our economy "depends" on it?

in what world is that the moral good? No offense.

The best outcome for ALL parties is to send them to their place of origin. They can make actual wages, and we can start to do the work to correct our economy so it isn't so dependent on slave labor.

That is an ethical win-win.

Or we can just continue to ignore the pretty significant human rights issues because we dont' have to think about it too much while we go shopping.

There are no easy answers to the problem, but there are correct answers to the problem.

Doing nothing isn't one of them.

It'll be a lot cheaper now to get them out than it will be in another generation.

either rip the band-aid off now, or live to make it our childrens problem.
