A method I have been doing recently that's pretty nice with 99 thieving, rogues outfit and ardy diary is pickpocketing vyres in darkmayer.
You have the 1/6k chance of getting 2 blood shards and the shards are 8m each right now.. I've got the blood shard loot around 5 times now.. Its around 180k xp/hr.

pyramid plunder is even faster as a group, because the doors are not different per person, the only time they may be is if you get caught trying to open a door right after they switch positions
