Seriously such a great car to drive and doesn't even get upset when you push it. Awesome handling too. Went to an advanced drivers course last year all the instructors were always impressed with how well these cars handle the abuse every time they have them there. I'm very glad I have this awesome fun car. this for sure will be one of Ford Australia's finest pieces of motoring history to look back on in years to come.

G'day, Every so often I revisit this clip...just for sanity purposes until I read the usual dribble from the Holden crew.. How's this for you guys.. Just before Christmas I gave a bloke who owns a VE commodore SS, a real nice one too and a VE V6.. a lift home after I bought a real old Honda Accord off him as a daily and the deal was I'd run him home if he dropped it off for me because I couldn't get anyone to take me to pick it up..He couldn't get over my FG XR6 that I took him home in.. How well she ran he said a few times ..He asked me all about my standard Mk 1 XR..Engine impressed him, the ZF 6 speed he was similarly impressed by...and the comfort over the 50 km trip..He loves his SS but the V6 was a bit of a mistake he reckoned..Done the timing chain twice...Just shows ya..

G'day...Piss weak engine....You are a pratt that made that comment...This amazing engine is anything but that...If one of these sees a major spanner  before 350-400, 000 kms...then it'd be unusual..I think bulletproof is a better description...great auto..tons of room...and classy....Americans can only dream of our Falcon..Check out a G6E too...gorgeous car..

The FG has started to grow on me, I've always been a BA/BF-EL lover, but the chunky curves and lines of the FG is starting to grow on me. Maybe in 5 years time i'd pick up a FG MKII XR6, but maybe the death of the falcon will put the prices up for these?

@FeelFree3 you obviously don't know much about engines. They don't just bolt a turbo on to the engine. Certain adjustments and precautions are put in place to make it safe, reliable and to perform. Having owned a turbo for several years, it comes down to maintenance and the way you drive. I you flog your car day after day don't expect it to last
