Lifting alot of weight is impressive, but what should be most impressive is the individual improvement, a guy who starts out only lifting the bar to being able to bench 225, is more impressive than a guy who started out lifting 225 but is at 250, who improved the most is obvious, which is the most important thing in the fitness scene, atleast should be in my opinion.
