Terraform Cloud - Managing Your Workspaces with Projects
Показать описание
HashiCorp has added Projects for managing Workspaces in Terraform Cloud! We'll explore what projects are, how to manage them, and how they impact workflow and permissions.
Previous to the introduction of Projects, all Workspaces in Terraform Cloud existed in a flat hierarchy. This meant that if you wanted to apply permissions to a group of Workspaces, you had to do it one by one. While it is possible to use the Terraform TFE provider to configure Terraform Cloud, that's not the best solution in my view. Tags for Workspaces were introduced in part to help with filtering and provide additional metadata about a given workspace, but they didn't do anything to alleviate the pain of managing permissions.
A Project in Terraform Cloud is a container for Workspaces enabling grouping of related workspaces, consistent permission application, and a cleaner dashboard view in the UI. You probably have a lot of questions regarding how projects are created, what permissions are available, and how this impacts your workflow. I'll try to answer all those questions and more in this video.
Thank you so much for watching! Subscribe if you think I’ve earned it. Hit the bell as well if you’re feeling swell.❤️&🌮
