In this day and age there’s a fine line between flirting and harassment. If you read between the lines her answer was “leave me alone ” with a period not a question mark

The guy was probably innocent, had no idea how to flirt, and thought "Oh, I'll ask where she's going and that will start a conversation" HOWEVER, he could have been a human trafficking agent spotting potential victims. Unfortunately, or fortunately, you'll never know. But you're alive, and that's all that matters. Sorry, his feelings were hurt or whatever, but it's not safe for women anymore.

Definitely made the right decision! Regardless of the gender, I would be suspicious of someone asking me where I was going. Never know who is coming to get you for human trafficking, they normally get charming people to do that kind of thing. I think your response was polite and set boundaries. Could also have said something like oh, just to see family or friends and then asked him where he was going/ kept the conversation more about him. But you don't have to give feel bad for not giving someone your time either. ❤

Sounds like he was making small talk maybe makes his work day go faster or he did in fact fancy you in that case try to make a conversation happen being at an airport suggests your going somewhere so “where are you off too anywhere nice” would be normal thing to say
