What is your favourite Excel function? And why?

I am an old man now, I had no idea how to use excel. Your videos and tutorials taught me how to write complex sheets. My son looked over my shoulder, when I first stumbled through them, he has ADHD, between us we worked on sheets and created real projects that helped in our daily lives. He is now a young man and works for a company writing spreadsheets. So I would have to say SUM is my favourite, that's where it all started. Either way, thanks for your excellent and ultimately inspirational videos.

COUNTA, COUNT, COUNTIFS, SUM, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP etc.

I have been using Excel for several years and lately have found the INDIRECT a powerful and extremely useful function. Being able to access data from sheet names really simplifies data manipulation.

Recently I've become a bit of a fan of the CHOOSE Function, using fixed arrays, {1;2, 3;4} for the index, to spill complex dynamic arrays.

My favourite functions are (IF+OR+AND) Functions when applied together and Array Functions.

Reasons

1. I have made my first excel tempelate with the use of above mentioned formula at my workplace.
2. Array Functions which are of dynamic feature and are beyond the ordinary formulas of excel.

Hi there my favorite function in excel is FILTER because Prior to this I have been struggling to get the data between two dates but I was facing so much trouble in this and the solutions which I found on youtube were very complex, but with the arrival of FILTER function all these problems are a thing of past now. I Love FILTER function.

my fav function is INDIRECT, it allows me to make cell references in any function dynamic. I have been using this function for last 15 years for various Dashboards

I love the LET function... a lot! You can define variable, and give them meaningful names, that contain constants, arrays and formulas... this allows you to think more clearly when combining them into the action part of the overall formula. They act like mini-functions, again, with meaningful names defined directly within the formula you are writing. This is really a very powerful aid when constructing complicated spilling formulas.

Hi Alan, my favorite function is AGGREGATE, as I use it all the time to resolve queries in my Forum. It is very useful for me when generating lookups with one or more conditions and establishing the order in which I require the results. This function is the only one in Excel that allows you to perform 19 different operations and avoid errors or hidden rows, all in a single formula. AGGREGATE is great!!

My favourite function is Sequence, you can generate sequence of numbers very easily, such as reminder dates and even a whole year's calendar with just one relatively short formula. As a dynamic array function it spills down as large an array of number as you need.

INDEX+MATCH is my favorite formula. I think it is the most useful lookup function to mine and summarize data.

I love the Xlookup function can combine Filter, Sort or Unique function which it is easy to use, simply, flexible and versatile. This is a extremely powerful function. I think this is the best for lookup function. Cool. ✌✌✌✌
