How To Set Up SNMP On Windows Server

We have lots of ways to monitor Windows Server these days by using CIM/WMI, PowerShell Remoting and even good ol' SNMP. SNMP has been around for a long time but it's still a great way to monitor a Windows Server.

In this snip, we'll go over how to install the SNMP feature in Windows Server and set up a community string so that our monitoring tool of choice can query it via the SNMP protocol.
