I have acute tinnitus and a few nights the ringing would get so bad it would actually make me cry like a baby, I mean literally imagine a grown man sobbing like a toddler. 100% agree with pokimane here that it would probably make someone self delete if you dealt with that for a few days, that’s no exaggeration.

Take care of your ears kiddos, definitely don’t blast your music on max volume like I did or you’re gonna pay for it sooner or later.

Also can’t even sleep anymore w/o background noise and light because the tinnitus will start acting up.

I cried tears of joy when my tinnitus went away. I had tinnitus couple years ago and I don't know how, when or why, I just noticed that the annoying ringing is not present anymore and I felt the muffling effect of tinnitus slowly wear off. It felt like freedom, like breathing the freshesssst air, I felt like I could hear colors. I try my best not to think about the time when i had tinnitus because I'm afraid it'll come back if I think about it too much

At this point, i don't remember what silence was truly like anymore, and I dread when it's quiet. I'm 22 and I've had tinnitus since I was like 12.

Used to listen to my music on high nonstop. One day, all of a sudden I got really bad ringing and began to panic. It was like that for days and I couldn’t sleep. I was so anxious and constantly trying to drown it out with background noise. Pretty much everything Poki said.
I cried to my sister saying how I felt like such a dumbass for ruining my ears. Then randomly, I don’t know why but it went away. I was so relieved but it was a real wake up call. I still listen to music but I have a noise cap on everything. I’m terrified of that ever happening again so now I’m doing my best to be careful.

I've had tinnitus for about 16 years, what she said was not overexagirated. I feel like this on my worst days. It's just too loud and nothing can get it down. I have it 24/7 nonstop. It's like a low humming sound, like a dishwasher from a distance. Then there's my high pitched sounds coming and going. Its horrible, and I'm stillbnot used to it

Tinnitus is incurable I believe. It is why it is very important to use hearing protection during plenty of circumstances. As well as making sure to not listen to music, videos, and other things very loud at all.

quiet rooms have always been my enemy, honestly even just a fan on at night can help so much

Ive had bad tinnitus for my whole life, and eventually you just get used to it. The main problem then is that its just hard to hear people sometimes

i played loud music through bass boosted headphones all the time as a high schooler, now i regret it as there are countless nights where the ringing is unbearable and it really brings out a part of you that many never wish to experience. thoughts of how death could solve this problem, wishing it all went away just because high school you wanted loud music. at the end of the day, theres nothing to do but just deal with it, as much as it sucks.

Eh, you learn to live with it. As long as you’re not paying attention to it, you won’t notice it. But if you even think about it for a second, good luck forgetting… yep, I can hear it again [sigh]

I have that for half of my life basically. Didn't know what it was when the first time I noticed it and thought that was how "silent" sounded like. Learned how to live with it. Sometimes it could go worse though. When I feel stressed, got sickness, headache, everything. As far as I know, there's no cure for this. Even when I'm very much healthy just like typing this now, I still can hear it. I'd buy anything in this world to remove this sound because it never feels good. It's just getting worsen every single day and it's stressing me out. What a paradox having this

To those with tinnitus, damn you really have my condolences. My ears barely ring, but I can’t imagine how much worse it could be.

Also scrambled eggs with butter? I should try that.

For those suffering from tinnitus, sound is your best friend. For those unable to sleep, I use a brainwave app and it helps with distracting my brain enough to allow me to sleep. During the day, stop blasting your eardrums with earbuds and don’t push earwax with q-tips, which is likely where this all started.

I live in constant sound, I hate dead silence. If it’s dead silent, it’s not, it’s just I try to have constant sound playing so it don’t get there x)

This was me the first month I had tinnitus. After a month the ringing went down and now I live with it. I don’t even think about it anymore. It’s crazy because when I first got it it was so bad I thought about killing myself. Now I can’t even remember the emotional pain. My brain doesn’t recall. So thankful to be here

I only hear my tinnitus if it's dead quiet. It sucks when i meditate but ive learned to try and drive it out by focusing on it and i pretend it's static.
