Bart Denton Ehrman is an American New Testament scholar focusing on textual criticism of the New Testament, the historical Jesus, and the origins and development of early Christianity. He has written and edited 30 books, including three college textbooks. He has also authored six New York Times bestsellers. He is the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Ehrman has written widely on issues of the New Testament and early Christianity at both an academic and popular level, much of it based on textual criticism of the New Testament. His thirty books include three college textbooks and six New York Times bestsellers: Misquoting Jesus, Jesus, Interrupted, God's Problem, Forged, How Jesus Became God, and The Triumph of Christianity. More than two million copies of his books have been sold, and his books have been translated into 27 languages.

Ehrman has been the recipient of the 2009 J. W. Pope "Spirit of Inquiry" Teaching Award, the 1993 UNC Undergraduate Student Teaching Award, the 1994 Phillip and Ruth Hettleman Prize for Artistic and Scholarly Achievement, and the Bowman and Gordon Gray Award for excellence in teaching.

So, I'm actually a Christian. But the things this channel has brought up are the EXACT things that made me feel guilty for wondering about all my life. Most Christians would find these topics "blasphemous" and judge me for listening to this . ... BUT WHY? Why must I be blind and ignorant of something that supposedly charts my life? Why do I want to follow something that crumbles under slight scrutiny? I spent years reading Christian apologetics trying to believe things my rational mind will NOT succumb to no matter how hard I tried to bully it. I want to THANK YOU for discussing these things WITHOUT malice or scorn. If that would of been the case I would have clicked off you IMMEDIATELY like I have on previous channels. Keep doing what you're doing; educating without judgment. I totally respect that. And this guest is FULL of information And I enjoy his humor. 😉

In reference to Revelation and an ever-changing date; cults are obsessed with the calendar and the end of time. It's easier to control followers when they are fearful. Our government does the same and tries to keep us fearful.

I got few questions regarding event of exodus.

No1: what is the average distance between capital of pharoes which is Memphis to crossing point of red sea.

No2: how much time would take for a charriot to go from memphis to the crossing point.

No3: if 3ml people were there waiting to cross how much time would it took them to cross all of them.

No4: can twelve brothers of joseph multiply to that number what scholars are suggesting were the number of exodus, what will be the birth rate of them over the years of slavery can that be practically possible.

If one has answer of these questions exodus scenario would be clear for them.

Very informative and interesting. I left the church a decade ago and recently left the Bible too. Though I find the laughing and joking in this video somewhat irritable and not serious.
Also disrespectful to those who still believe as did you and I some time ago. This is not the way to reach and inform fellow men of the truth.

Had I listened to and watched these very interesting discussions earlier in my journey, you guys would have slowed down my journey towards the truth.

I deconstructed last December 2022, so I appreciate these discussions. It's sad that I believed God of all things would interact with a very small group of people as described in the Bible and expect it to be believed by all, going forward. It's just a weird way for the "most high" to operate now that I know better.
