Gymnast Shawn Johnson East was just 16 when she made her Olympic debut back in 2008. She walked away with four medals, including a gold medal for her balance beam routine. In an exclusive interview with Access Hollywood, Shawn looked back on that special moment winning gold, sharing how it felt to achieve her dream and set forth to find a new purpose. The former athlete is traveling to Paris to be a Yahoo! Sports correspondent for the 2024 Olympics, where she'll be rooting on the Team USA gymnasts, including Simone Biles. "She surpasses just anything I thought was possible in our sport, and she's been a voice for millions of little kids," Shawn gushed of Simone. "It makes me proud as a mom for my daughter, cause if she ever wants to go into gymnastics, I know Simone has paved a path for her that will be really special," she said. Watch the 2024 Paris Olympics on NBC and Peacock, starting July 26 with the Opening Ceremony.

I'm boycotting the Olympics because it's so political. The IOC banned Russia this year for invading Ukraine. That's a good thing. But the IOC didn't ban Israel or the USA for invading Gaza and killing 40, 000 innocent Palestinian women and children. That's a bad thing. How is that possible?

I feel bad for our athletes who worked so hard to get to that level. But had I qualified for the Olympics, I would pull out of the race just before the starting gun in protest of "killing Palestinian women and children with my tax dollars." That's how you get big $ endorsements.
