792p Next-Gen Consoles vs. PC - WTF?

How much more raw power would an XBox One or a PS4 need to output 60fps? What about 1080p? See how well "next-gen" console gaming performance stacks up against a beastly PC graphics card, the... the GTX 480?...

You also have to remember that in 3 years a $400 PS4 will still be a $400 PS4 where as a $650 GTX780ti that's 100 times more powerful will be $200. Along with other hardware price drops. In 3 years these consoles will be completely under powered, outdated, and useless compared to PC of the same price. 4K will be standard or at least common in the next 5 years, and console are having a hard time getting over 900p. A $800 PC in 5 years should have no trouble playing most games at 4K.

I would say that the original Xbox was probably closest to PC architecture (because it was a PC). Basically it was an off the shelf 733 MHz copper mine Pentium 3 with a slightly modified GeForce 3 GPU. Didn't even have special low level APIs, it used DirectX. (Xbox = DirectX Box)

I never realized it was this bad. A graphics card that is almost over 3 generations behind, still beats the JUST released consoles by a long margin. Apparently, the PS4 and Xbox One will be around for another 10 YEARS. While PC gaming progresses, and lord gaben gives more functionality to the standard console gamer... Everyone will want to switch in the next 3 - 4 years. Think about it. Steam doesn't use discs, and consoles still do. Steam doesn't have to pay for multiplayer. Steam doesn't have horrible policies. Games are also way cheaper. Once game developers get bottle necked to what a console can output, and console gamers finally realize the benefits to switching to PC gaming... It is literally a game changer. This could even encourage microsoft to further support PC gaming when they're Xbox sales go down. There are so many factors with in this... But I will call this theory the, "Death of consoles"... The name is fitting. Besides, discs are not in the future anyways. ;)

The new consoles "next gen" / now "current gen" were designed to be as affordable as possible. I don't really get why, since console games are still more expensive than PC games. So suck it up, get a good gaming PC and then save money on the games in the long run instead of buying an underpowered console and then cursing at new games in their non-FullHD, stuttering glory.

Look at all these fanboys, I'm a PS4 guy and I know for a fact PC is much superior compared to consoles. We all know that, it just that those hypocrite fanboys creating fairy-tales saying human eye can only see 30FPS and that PC Gamers has a fucking Terminator eye that can actually see above 30FPS. I tend to ignore these biased fanboys and still love my Playstation 4, hate to say this but PC has always ten step ahead of console, no matter what we say.
