UN Global Day of Parents 2022 - Family Inclusion Network SEQ

This year the Family Inclusion Network Team recognised the UN Global Day for Parents with their Charting the Course Forum.

This event was a facilitated, two-way discussion where we had a Ministers and the Queensland Human Rights Commissioner, parents, government and sector leaders, carers and more in attendance. Today was particularly important as the 'Charter of Rights for Parents’ involved in the child protection system in Queensland was launched.

Parents with lived experience have pushed for this Charter of Rights for years. Over the last few months the movement gathered steam after Leanne Linard MP gave it her backing. Parents have partnered with power. They have the encouragement from the Department and from Commissioner Scott McDougall Queensland Human Rights Commission.

A change is happening!
