Very interesting fact about this song. In the chords for the lyrics "Die, ie, ie, ieeee" at the end of the chorus, the chords are "D, E, A, D" In that order. Very clever!

This song breaks my heart. Depression and isolation are tough for me and if anyone else is going through what I am I hope you all feel better.

The jewel of The Next Day. Love love love that song. It sounds like a 2013 version of Rock'n'Roll Suicide. Amazing Bowie! David, if you read this, I want you to know that I've been a huge fan of yours since the time I was in the womb of my mum. No nursery rhyme made me fall asleep when I was a baby. Your music only did. You're the very best multifaceted artist on this planet.

No one quite like Bowie! His songwriting abilities were better than almost anyone elses. Everything from the comical "Laughing Gnome" to the haunting and sad "Slip Away" is just brilliant. He was never afraid to experiment with different sounds and styles.

I love how the ending resembles the beginning of Five Years.

It still amazes me how Bowie reaches so far. So we see all these comments about what people love about this song. Then there are those who favor "Heat" or "Dirty Boys" etc. I never heard a bad Bowie album no matter what the media has written, they've proved to be clueless beyond repair, one just needs to look at the reviews of Low. Bowie is my God and he's real!

My father committed suicide about a month ago...this song, to me at least, captures exactly how he was feeling and how I feel now. This is why I love Bowie more than any other artist.

When I was young and self esteem was at a low, I was suicidal but there is one thing that kept me going. Listening to Bowie. It's like he understands even though he doesn't know me. Now I look forward to seeing 'The Next Day'

One of those epic swan-song performances... This stunner comes from a man coming out of a 10 year hiatus... The surprise is not that it's good but that it surpasses some former glories, & at this last chapter of a genius...

One of the Greatest Bowie songs ever. This should have been played at one of the tributes to our hero at an awards ceremony.

How this wasn't released as a single bewildered me! Easily my favourite song on the album and the one I appreciate the most, shame it will slip through as another album track - it is however, in my view the star of the album. Very few can write a song like this in their sixties...perhaps Dylan but...wow love this track

These lyrics are so haunting, especially the first verse . When you listen very closely you can even hear him breathing. This is unreal.

That man served his time, took the knocks, felt humiliation, elation ... the inkling of success, greatness... and he indeed was great. What a man you were, David!
