summary: luffy's grandfather, marine vice-admiral monkey d. garp, is revealed. garp is disappointed that his intense training didn't lead luffy to become a marine like him. they argue, and garp reveals that shanks, who inspired luffy to become a pirate, is one of the four emperors ruling the grand line. these emperors are a reason behind the creation of the marine headquarters and the seven warlords of the sea alliance.

roronoa zoro arrives and fights the marines. garp's top students, koby and helmeppo, are ordered to combat zoro but are defeated by luffy and zoro. koby and helmeppo reveal they've been training to become marine officers under garp.

garp helps his men rebuild the wall he damaged. he asks luffy about meeting his father, shocking luffy who didn't know he had one. garp reveals luffy's father is monkey d. dragon, the leader of the revolutionary army opposing the world government. this news shocks everyone, as dragon is considered the most dangerous criminal due to his revolutionary activities. garp realizes he's said too much and instructs them to forget.

it isnt show here because is cut, but i always found funny that when luffy looks at everyone to read the room about if really everyone knows who his father is, everyone appears to be perfectly aware... except zoro, that just looks at him back like saying "these people are crazy right?"

i feel like after some chapters after the recent one Luffy and co. will end up being rescuted by Revolutionary Army and then Luffy will be face to face to his parents for the first time in his life, I can already see him saying
"Dad, you saved me back in Loguetown, didn't you?" and with a big smile says "Thank you!"
Dragon would probably flinch or wide open a little his eyes, while still keeping his cool saying "It's all good." or something

Considering Oda said Luffy's mother (not Crocodile...) is in the revolutionary army, I really, really REALLY hope a heartwarming family reunion where Luffy doesn't mind the fact his parents leaved him after getting a bit older (since when he was a newborn his mother was still taking care of him) and just tell them something like "You've been fighting the bad guys this entire time, right? It's all right for me! shishishi!"

If Luffy's mother is the type to end up being afraid of Luffy hating her for abandoning him, her crying with this would be really touching, a family reunion scene like something that happened in Naruto would put a smile on my face, it would be even more epic if Garp relized how corrupt the Marine is and ends up joining forces with Luffy, Sabo, Dragon and his wife

Then the final painel having Dragon and Garp doing a cool pose while Garp smiles (maybe even Luffy's mother if she ever be a fighter, and I really HOPE SHE IS), Luffy doing his Gear 2/5 pose at the front and Sabo full of flames while a transparent Ace is along side them, showing how monsterous the Monkey D. family is
