A couple that I went for an outdoors hike with yesterday had Covid in mid-late December (most likely Delta). They're substantially recovered but both have only about 10% of their taste and sense of smell back. No gum problems.

As an American, I think there are a couple of things to consider when it comes to EVs. One is simply the size of the country and the level of regionalism that is present here. And as the proud, new owner of a Tesla Model Y living on the west coast, I'd say that EVs are becoming the new norm out here. However, go to many other parts of the country with different, ahem "views", and you'll have a hard time even buying an EV. Two is the dealers for traditional ICE manufacturers simply don't want to sell EVs. There are lots of stories about dealers actively discouraging customers from buying them, or adding the dreaded "market adjustment" to the price. In my opinion, the dealership networks are the #1 reason that EV adoption is so low. Finally, there is the whole 'murican car and truck culture that is deeply embedded here. This is likely to change dramatically when the Ford F-150 Lightning, GM's Silverado EV, and Cybertruck hit the market in volume. I'm sure the EV truck bro culture will still be populated with a-holes, but at least they will be driving electric.

For us, purchase price is a factor which is keeping us in our two Buicks. I would love to get a Model Y, but it would be $67, 440, long range, red, white interior, hitch, 7 seat with the fees, and before California DMV fees, and taxes. I am hoping that my few Tesla shares will get to a value that they could help with a big down payment in the future. And I think that the Ionic looks like a dated throwback to the 80's.

I'm buying a Bolt. I have a reservation for an EUV Premier that is scheduled for build the week of April 25th. It remains the best buy for the money with decent range for a lot less than competitors.

Such an interesting and unique analysis! It never occurred to me (and no one else has mentioned) that European and China punishments for ICE sales would reduce those manufacturer's incentive to sell EVs to North America.

I'm so glad I ordered my Model 3 at the start of the year. I'll get it on the 27th so just under 2 months wait time. Not bad. I expect both the 3 and Y to sell out for the year by the end of March.

I purchased a bolt euv in October 22 and still waiting for delivery. I think the battery replacement effort from gm was a very positive thing for me., keep up the great work.

We bought a used 2019 Bolt last year for $21K with only 9.5K miles on it. Along comes the recall and GM is putting a new 66KW battery pack in it for free with the extended warranty. Basically we will have a new car by the end of February with a battery warranty out to 123K miles. Maybe I am missing something here but we scored big time.

The only symptom I noticed (Covid 19) was lack of taste. Jalapeños were just like green bell peppers. That was the tip off.
