PSA: Destroying a partners belongings is textbook abuse. There is no valid reason to destroy someone else's property, especially someone you claim to love. It is a way to show dominance and disdain for the other partner. Shame on this show for normalizing and diminishing this abusive act and especially shame on Chris for laughing and saying "what a man" as though abusive behavior is a normal and expected part of masculinity. This show should make a statement to their audience about the mistake that this segment was so that viewers in abusive relationships don't watch it and get encouraged to overlook their partner's abuse further.

While it seems like Katherine was surprised by the cat bed burning, I don't think Bobby just did it out of malice. They had probably discussed getting rid of it because of the size and she thought he had done that in a normal fashion (gave it away, sold it, etc.) If it had been destroyed out of meanness I feel she would have reacted differently.
