I think it’s odd to place his hand there. I personally don’t think he was trying to do anything inappropriate, but if he was going to do that, he should at least had his hand on her side, because honestly that’s more normal.

Respecting someone's personal space should be Universal. He was wrong. No debate. Take a lesson from Keanu Reeves.

All you people saying it's his culture to touch are 100% wrong. It's never about the person doing the touching who's culture that's important. It's the person who is being touched whos culture that matters.

i mean placing a hand on a woman's waist is a pretty common thing like you just lay your hand and get off after but bro fr slides his hand on her waist and was feeling her body now that shit is creepy.

Ultimately it's up to her, it didn't seem to bother her. But if it DID, then he should apologize. Overall, I don't think he meant any harm in his intention though.

I think it was on her lower hip. I dont think he meant to make it sexual or anything but we don't know yujins boundaries unless she has explicitly said she doesn't like that, there might be a chance she was okay with him doing that!! But he definitely should have put his hand higher for good measure

“Disrespecting her boundaries” as if you know what her boundaries are? stop projecting your own feelings onto other people! You know nothing!

People are seriously overreacting! If you look at where her arm is resting it makes sense why he would place his hand on her hip (yeah HIP not butt)!

I understand men (you don’t know) should always rest their hand on the waist, however in this situation it seems like that would’ve been more invasive + could possibly interrupt her pose given how close her arm is to her body, but that’s just me!

Also, to everyone saying “she’s so uncomfortable” bro you don’t know that and you can’t even tell so just stop!

oh they've done more than that behind the scenes

Of course it's up to her but I, myself, find it uncomfortable, even more how it's not just the touch but the way he DRAGS his hand on her waist and the back of her spine, regardless of sexuality, gender, culture (I'm Latina and I still find it uncomfortable, I say this bcs some think Latinos are very touchy but without having in mind others boundaries, making some uncomfortable) or whatever, MANNERD HANDS ALWAYS, you never know, the other person could not like to be touched, get a panic att4ck bcs of it, LITERALLY you NEVER know, So Please let's be more empathic and respectful

I don't think he ment any harm and if it was a me and someone i worked with wanted to put his arm around me for photo and i knew he was gay i would not have even thought about it. I think were he is wrong is that he didn't take time to find out rules and culture of the people he was working with.

Basically, just bc you are okay with excessive touching doesn't mean the person receiving it is okay with it —no matter what your sexual orientation is. It's like most ppl aren't pedos but you don't see them going around laying their hands on a kid's butt saying it's okay, I only like adults. Still not okay and it's still weird bruh. It's one thing if you knew them for years and they are comfortable with you in a touchy feel—y level (like grandmas have no kinda concept of personal space but you accept it bc it's yo grandma), but not at a chance meeting for a photo op. I mean I get it, most designers are use to touching models bc it's part of their job —that's their everyday so they become desensitized to touching the human form but still, at an event like that, it's like an office party. You still have to be able to read a room. Plus, accepting that as "okay" bc of xyz (like bc he only likes men) only opens her up to more of that interaction with ppl who ARE trying to perv on her. That's what he doesn't get. It's a public space and you, as a person of power in that space, sets the tone for how others would or can treat that person.

People are making a big deal out of this ONLY because it happens to their kpop faves. If this happened to any other non-kpop girl, they wouldn't give two shits let's be real

Not common in Korea or anywhere in the world. He saw a chance to touch her body, and he went for it. He used a position of power upon a considerably younger woman. The gay card has nothing to do with it

wasn't this a "western" event? assuming that this is normal behaviour in "western" culture, shouldn't they be respecting "western" culture instead? seeing that there was no clear display of discomfort to the action, I guess they did expect this? then what is with this pointless argument and hate smh...
I swear...ever since kpop/kdrama blew up, korean "culture" has been forcefully turned into a standard...
