This video will teach you what VAEs do in Stable Diffusion and how to use them. First, we will cover what types of models require VAEs to get good results and which do not. Then, we will cover the two main ways to use VAEs in the Automatic1111 interface along with their benefits and drawbacks.

You could use symbolic links to make the one VAE per model approach work without requiring extra storage space.

You can also add the VAE box to the quick acces so that you dont have to go into settings.... I find this most usefull since I use VAE the same VAE for 80 % of models and for the others I can switch it off rather quickly there.

when i use VAE on a model that already had VAE baked in, it does nothing. By logic it should over saturate the image more right?

thank you. i just deleted a large VAE file because the stable diffusion keep on saying not enough memory

so there are many VAE that make greyish image become more saturated, but is there any VAE that could make an oversaturated image to be less saturate?

How about a model that has baked in VAE did they still use selected VAE in the setting?
