I've got a great response. "either I work this weekend and take next week off with the inevitable sickness from exhaustion, or you leave me to rest and I'll see you Monday

My takeaway from this is to always have a complex and important plan in mind for when a manager texts you out of nowhere.

I've been enjoying these, but sadly now I'm going to have to speak to an employment attorney myself. I was demoted a year and a half ago. When that happened I was told, in writing, that I wouldn't lose my current salary, just some additional benefits (valued at $1, 000/month). Today I was told, "Yeah, we were supposed to reduce your pay, so we're going to go ahead and do that now."
