From now until the end of the year, all Tips and Donations made on my videos will go to my son's middle school to support families who might need help sending their kids on the Spring 2025 school trip to Washington, D.C. I’ll also be matching every donation - UPDATE @UNCLEJESSY on venmo

The fact that hes charging that much for STLs and the files arent even organized well is just silly. these model makers are getting stupid with pricing.

That’s some serious engineering on the twist mechanism!

For the price I’d expect flawless organisation and instructions.
Also, why doesn’t the creator include .3mf files with all of the required settings?
Seems like a very high price for a cool looking model, but nothing else looks like a high end experience.

Usually I don't begrudge anyone for selling their work, but $38 for this STL seems quite steep to me. I wouldn't balk at $20. I am a patreon supporter of One Page Rules and have bought plenty of STL files from their MyMiniFactory page as well, which is probably why this value feels off to me. If it was $20, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I wish the creator luck, looks like a fun toy!

yes I love this! I purchased this design a while ago but the build process scared me, this video couldn't come at a better time!

Those are awesome. Makes me want to mod it with a motor, switch and battery.

I backed the Kickstarter and have struggled with getting a working model. The inner section of the middle blade keeps breaking when attempting to extend the blades. The creator has given me a few tips, but I had to take a break. I will probably try again soon.

Looks like company needs to do a little more work. Should have did more research before releasing it. Gonna pass on this.

I love how you show off makers work. I think it really helps out the community.

I'd love your thoughts on having 3mf files for an entire project vs sorting through a bunch of random files to comple something complex.

I just recently printed something with a bunch of files from Loot studios and and a different set of files from makerworld. The makerworld one was very well laid out when I imported it into the slicer. The paid files took a bunch of time at the computer to figure out what needed to be printed.

This project seemed like it would have been nice to have it laid out with all the printer settings and plates you would need.

$38 for a stl file is out of this world. looks cool but a hard pass. some people just get so greedy with their stl files for sale. btw how are those magnet gloves coming so you don't drop any more tools in your

I wonder if you 3dprinted the interior screws as a clear material, would you be able to light this thing up?

(Saber not fully extending) Don't worry Jessy, that happens with time and age. It can happen to anyone

@UncleJessy Did you slice the inner screws and the outer blades with Variable Line Width (Arachne) Off or On?

I backed this project and had a brief email exchange with the creator about a print issue he mentioned having in later releases of the slicer he used. Looks like the issue with the later slicers was the implementation of Variable Line Width or Arachne.

I showed him some slicer previews of those parts with Arachne Off and with it On (I used PrusaSlicer). With Arachne On, the threads of the inner screws looked uneven and jagged. With Arachne Off, the threads were far smoother. He confirmed this was the issue he was having and turning off Arachne/Variable Line Width was the solution for the problem he was seeing.

This would definitely affect how smoothly the mechanism works and how much sanding of the threads would be needed.

"Patent pending telescoping design", awesome, the author wants to make sure no one else will ever be able to make something like that for a fair price...

Nice. Glow in the dark filament with a light inside might be fun.

I've never used a spool of Elegoo filament that didn't come more tangled than the cosmic strings lol

I love this, Would you try one in resin? maybe frosted transparent and put leds in it?

That's awesome awesome! as others have said I can only imagine the engineering, let alone the trial and error that went into getting that to work. It would be cool to see how big you could print one on the XL or even the orange storm! If you printed it on the XL you could do a two tone color effect on the blade, I bet that would look cool as it is extending.
