Significant carbon saving at M42 J6 scheme

Working with the local community helped the project team achieve significant environmental and carbon savings on the original design of the site compound at the Highways England M42 Junction 6 improvement scheme. How? By reducing the size of the compound, moving to a brownfield area, reusing the portacabins from a previous project, using green energy, delivering materials directly to site, and using recycled asphalt for the carpark and access areas. As a result, the impact on the local community and environment has been considerably reduced.
