When this song came out, I was a depressed high schooler with suicidal thoughts. Thanks to papa roach for helping me find the grit to bare my teeth and fight for the ability to love myself enough to stay on this earth.

Whatever you're going through, I want you to know that you are worthy of life. As Jesus said, "when thou hast been converted, strengthen thy brethren". This world needs people who have faced down their demons and won to show them the way. For that reason, when I say your decision to live makes you special and valuable, I'm not just making it up, I mean it. So please, choose to stay. The world needs you and your strength, more than ever. You WILL make it through this, and you WILL touch the lives of those around you. You will be a light in the endless darkness.

Especially you younger fellas out there - the world you're growing into is an increasingly scary place, but that's why we NEED you. Stand your ground, refuse to back down when the dragon blows its fire on you, and you will emerge as the hero you have always been meant to become. As corny as that sounds, I'm NOT just saying it. We. Need. You.
