Lego SW Advent: Day 01

I've started watching all of his advent calendar openings every year as soon as thanksgiving (US) is over. Wish he'd make this a playlist, too.

It's a Gungan Sub, from The Phantom Menace. I actually have a large Lego version of it, and I think it's one of the better looking things from Episode I.

Ashens doesn't know what it is because he's mercifully wiped all scenes in the Phantom Menace from his memory, especially any involving JarJar.

The thing they use to go 'through the planet core.' That's right, the centre of Naboo is bizarrely (and impossibly) water, instead of molten iron.

Darth Maul is just using the Santa costume as a disguise so he can approach the children when they are most vulnerable and garrotte them with chicken wire and eat their skin.

I remember watch these counting down to Christmas when I was 12, damn man I'm 21 now and I gotta thank Ashens for his content really helped shape my child hood in a lot of ways, from his holesome deminor to the classic brown couch gotta say thank you for all the good years!

Ashens sounded just like an old fashioned children's TV presenter when he said "good pot... And bad pot." Bad pot is where the bad toys go. Very bad toys who go to bed without any pudding.

It's rather lovely to watch these, hear Ashen's complaints, and know just how much lower the quality of the sets will become over the next years.

I have a feeling- with the 3D version of Phantom Menance being released earlier this year- that most of the figures will be Phantom Menace related.
So, you could say 'I have a bad feeling about this' calendar.
