Bad Wolves - Remember When (Lyrics):

(Remember when)
When it was 1992
Two little kids stealing records skipping school
We must have been like only ten
Taking life for granted till we learn it had an end
And time is something they say
You never appreciate till you age
And to this day you never knew
I wanted to be just like you

If I only knew then what I know now
Then what I know now
If I only knew then what I know now
Then what I know now

(Remember when)
When it was 2002
You started slinging coke
And had the dopest pair of shoes
(Remember when)
But yo this house just ain't a home
Since our father hit the bottle and our mother hit the road
(Remember when)
And time is something they say
You never understand until it slips away
And looking back I think you knew
I wanted to be just like you

And now I'm tired of the violence
I'm so tired of the sirens
And it's better me, better me than you
Now I'm tired of the violence
I'm so tired of the sirens
And it's better me, better me than you

I saw an interview he did and he said this song is kind of an open letter to his brother, a way of Tommy getting it off his chest after all these years and finding closure. People who don't understand music like this have never been through anything major in their lives and have no room to judge how we process our emotions.

dam. Crazy how he took a insanely bad experience and turned it into a kick ass song. Props man props.

This guy is tough as a bull, has a voice that many would envy, died and came back to tell his story and after all these, he remains humble. If this is not Badass i dont know what is. Respect.

For those who don’t understand. His brother beat him to death and he flat lined at the hospital before they resuscitated him.

I like to imagine that the guards play this song for his brother on repeat in prison

That rough moment when you realize the homie singing was the one resuscitated.

I'm not crying. You're crying. #MetalTears

I saw that some peeps are getting confused. The singer had a twin brother who ended up being a drug addict and it faltered their relationship because he wouldn't follow down the same path. Which was sad because the singer looked up to his brother and loved him dearly. The brother broke into their father's home and beat the singer to death. He was resuscitated, thank the lord above, but he did die for that short period of time. Once recovered, he was able to put his own brother in jail for attempted murder. The trauma of that is something that never goes away. The song is his words to the twin that he will probably never see again, or want to face.

TOMMY!! great song. Just met u at a restaurant in pioneer square in Seattle (7-2018) (we were both visiting the city at the time) and you were so kind and awesome offering to take photo with me, signing a message to me on my paper, etc. you are an inspiration and I wish you so much success and happiness. Keep being the positive influence you are, encouraging kids to embrace who they are. Looking forward to much more music from you! Sarah, Tampa FL

In 2014 I was sent away to prison for 5 years. My father, who was my best friend in the whole world, visited me every week until I got transferred further away from home. He committed suicide in November of 2017 and they wouldn't let me go to the funeral despite having under a year left from Good Time. The last time I ever saw him was in a prison visiting room. His parents had to bury him and I couldn't be there. First thing I did when I got out was hop on a train and walked to the cemetery to sit at his grave and scream at the world for taking him instead of me. He deserved better and I don't.
