Tarot T960+WKM- maiden, review & raw on board video

There was nothing done to the gimbal- mounted on, plugged in, and shoot on default, so it still needs to be tuned as it has that "delayed horizon" in high winds when tilting hard side to side. After last DJI's "flyaway" I would feel much safer to lift it up with KK2 on bare gyros, rather then WKM...

than you very much for your answer i appreciate. Flying time is very nice and for sure the efficent is amazing. I hope the balance and the reliability of the bearings are also nice ;)

Motors are whatever was in the kit and I can't say much about them because I didn't do any tests, but when a 6kg hexa gives me nearly 20min. flying time, it makes me to believe that they are pretty efficient:)

Ahoy, I zip-tied ESCs under the motors, there's a square place for them. I didn't use any connectors anywhere, soldered all the way. I didn't use capacitors in the wiring anywhere (if that what those Elkos are:), haven't use them at all ever and didn't see any others using them. ESCs have them already, unless your ESCs are something non standard DIY ones...

Ahoy, I can not tell you now because it's not me who's flying it, but when I was maiden'ing, it was going good enough on default settings whatever WKM has there on. As much as I remember, I had to decrease gain by only tiny bit of pitch and roll when it was very windy, and that's it...

Nice setup. I have the same T960 from Foxtech and had the Falcon Pro GH3 gimbal. I am running on a single 6S 10000mAh. Foxtech send me the wrong screws too, M2x8mm instead of M3x8mm for the battery mounts. My Tarot is still on the ground as I got a dud ESC and still awaiting replacement from Foxtech. From your video, I understand that the gimbal damper ball is too soft and I think I will have the same problem when I get mine in the air.

That is not my copter, I just put it together for my friend. After his previous copter with Naza flew away back to China, he didn't want any Nazas and there was a good deal at Foxtech on this one with WKM. Not sure whether he'll be using waypoints. Sony Nex5 is on and it is only 2 axis gimbal- Foxtech Falcon Pro. It will be used mainly for photography, so 3rd axis not as much needed here:)

No, I got that with 4500mAh 6s x 2- 9.0A total capacity, but that is only hovering in one spot:)

Nice video. please I have a project similar to yours and I would love you to guide me through some steps especially choice of components since you've had experience with different ones.

Thanks mate, even if there's more of a putting together rather then building from scratch:)

Easy hovering around 18min. with 9.0A total capacity, so taking out few minutes for RTH and some wind conditions- 14min. safe flight with 2min. to spare for safety. This beast has so much power, that I bet it could easily carry around 16.0A of total capacity 6s batteries:)

Strange that you had such problems with your WKM controller. I have this system mounted on 4 Multicopter and had only 2 times a problem with that. The first time when DJI issued a firmware that was completely wrong, that they have then quickly withdrawn and the second time when I used a different battery brand which generated a magnetic field which disrupted the compass.

Hy Robo, I am buildung a Tarot t960 too. It's a wonderful copter.
where did you mount the Esc's. If you have mounted them under the Motors, did you install Elkos on the wires. If yes, where did you install them (every 10 cm on the wires? or how) and which capacity did you use.
Thanks a lot.

Cool. Is it a 3 axis gimbal and are you using a Sony Nex5? I am looking for a similar settup. what was rhe reason for you to go with the WK-M instead of the Naza v2. will you use waypoints?

Impressive Video man!! Do you recommend the Pixhawk Flight controllers? And would you change anything as this video is some years old? I’m planning on building a hexacopter that is able to lift a dslr cam. What do you think of the TL68P02 as motors?
keep it up!
