Tune in to watch live as Northrop Grumman launches its Antares rocket and Cygnus spacecraft on a resupply mission to the International Space Station. Liftoff is now targeted for 9:16 p.m. EDT from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. A previous launch attempt on Oct. 1 was scrubbed. Payloads on board Cygnus include research to help identify targeted cancer therapies, a new space toilet, a crop of radishes that will grow in the station's advanced plant habitat, a virtual reality camera that will capture a future spacewalk, and more.

Great launch! I watched it from my back yard and from my perspective it was crossing from left to right. The tongue of flame coming out of the engines was amazing. I could see it all the way to main engine cut off and then it was out of sight after that. Pretty cool watching a space launch from my back yard.

Thank you NASA and Northrop Grumann Team for naming it after Lt. Kalpana Chawla, the Inspiration of Millions of Indians and people around the world. Congratulations and Best wishes!

It is incredible to see the combinations of monitors at each work station. With just a turn of the head, they can monitor other essential information. While it increases the work-load per individual, it can reduce the number of people needed and the cost of space flight.

There’s far less smoke and fumes than rockets use to have, pretty crazy how far they have come.

SpaceX launches feel much more exciting and informative because they include the viewers.

Saw it perfectly about 1 minute after launch from the Jersey Shore for about a minute and a half. Watched it from Sandy Hook beach in Gateway National Recreation Area.

Was able to watch launch from almost 200 miles away in N.J. First live launch I've ever seen. Been a space nerd since the 60's.🙂
