Just for those unaware on why people hate this scene so much.

they were going for how people in the army talk to each other but they forgot the rank and status difference that make this seem more like a insult then banter. “Master chief” isn’t his name, it’s his rank. It just so happens to be the highest enlisted rank in the unsc and that’s not even getting to the status difference that makes this even more unrealistic for banter. Chief is a war hero and savor of humanity. Just like how veteran navy seals get away with teaching officers a lesson in humility, chief has the status to demand respectful behavior at all times regardless of rank. That’s why this comes off as bitching and not banter.

Palmer was always one thing, like yeah maybe it was banter maybe it wasn't. She kinda had a stick up her butt but that was fine. I always hated Del Rio more, like I could sorta see where he was coming from but at the same time come on man, show a little bit of respect. Lasky hella deserved that promotion

So thankful for this. My parents got me the Halo 4 edition xbox 360 (still have it) the christmas it launched and I never finished the game. I actually quit on the first mission and always said ill go back to it. Low and behold, i'm 24 now, and have been going through the roughest of rough patches recently... fired up halo 4 on the Master Chief Collection only to find that via the cloud streaming, there is no fucking dialog on cutscenes. Thankfully 10 years ago someone took care of this problem, yet in 2023 Microsoft hasnt corrected this issue. Thanks OP.
