Good health is a combination of adequate exercise and the right diet. But when illness strikes, it’s often great to have educated doctors and qualified nurses. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada is trying to make it easier for internationally educated nurses (IENs) to work in Canada by offering them a PASS – Pre Arrival Supports and Services. Funded by IRCC, the PASS program offered by the CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses helps nurses immigrating to Canada get a head start in their Canadian career. The pre-arrival orientation and employment related webinars are conducted over Skype meetings, online forms and occasionally over the phone. IENs can also take up non-licensed positions in the healthcare field until they become licensed nurses.
