If you want to know how to sing louder and more powerfully, this is an important video for you. I’m going to give you the one critical skill you need to sing louder and more powerfully. Ready?

Yes, I find that when you start by practising your exercises softly, after a while, your vocal cords get stronger and stronger and you find yourself singer louder and in balance naturally without you having to force it. Great video, thanks!

Yes I've experienced this, I have a naturally very quiet voice but after trying in chorale to sing louder and less breathy I find my voice starting to crack which it never did before

all this that you talk about in the video is what happened to me before knowing the sls method. I sang really hard and in the end I was tired and red in the face. After a few years I had a corditis and I realized there was something wrong. Among other things, I also suffer from esophageal reflux so the situation was really complicated. I had lost tone, falsetti, everything ... I was really desperate. Then with the internet search I found this technique that struck me immediately: singing at the speech level. I tried to deepen and today, thanks to one of the qualified Italian teachers, everything has really changed, but I still have to work a lot to fully master this wonderful technique. Thanks, Chuck

Just thought I should let you know, I struggle with poor vocal chord closure and tight throat/high larynx. When I would do the vocal cord exercises i would push more with my throat and when I would try to relax my throat and not push my chords wouldn’t close. After awhile I have come to realize there was a different problem that was the root of all this. Not good breath support! Which was causing me to push with my throat because I didn’t have enough air, I wasn’t holding it in and I was using too much when I sang. I am now learning to: control the breath by allowing less to flow out and holding it in with my ab muscles, keeping posture and starnum off the lungs as I exhale so there is room for the air in my lungs and consistently taking deep breaths when needed. All about the air! Doing this automatically gives me vocal chord closure because using the air instead of my throat so I can let go of the tension and the air pushes the chords closed! So you see some people might be struggling with vocal chord closure and high larynx, but it May be they don’t have good breath support! I was working so hard on everything else and struggling but this was the root of it.

sir, I just identified my incorrect vocal technic after watching this video. airy low notes, and squeezed high notes both have been my companion for more than 15 years. Now I m trying 'bubble lip' and 'goo' exercise mentioned by you in another video.

At some point I was experiencing pain with my bridge to the higher notes but the vocal coach was pushing me to power through it. Later it turned out I had an uncured tonsils infection that caused the pain. Fixed the pain, but voice is still damaged from the straining

I'm having a similar time like Tanya. I used to sing very loud and powerful with tension in my larynx and other muscles in neck, I could sing upto a F#4 but now when I'm trying to do a bridge I can't do it with my throat tight... Is there something I can do to keep my larynx down? I've tried all the methods

Is it possible to sing loud and powerful if you have a soft speaking voice? I've often been told that i have a nice singing voice but i struggle to sing loud and more powerful

But there is a way to sing with "max power" safely. (?)
Of course, I don't think it's smart to tell a beginner to sing that way, but I am actually doing one famous youtube vocal coaches vocal course and there is a described way of "doing it right". Balance is still the key, but there is an addition to strengthening chest voice. After doing exercises (or singing) lightly (earlier bridging through mix voice to a head voice) for approximately 30-45 minutes, you can start pulling your chest voice higher (with correct vowel modifications, stronger diaphragmatic support and without "widening") in order to have a stronger and higher voice. For now, I am experiencing a lot of benefits with this way of practicing singing, but I would like to hear your opinion on this topic. Hope it makes sense (My English is not so good).
