Sir, I'm a pcb student with 2 drops, currently I'm pursuing my graduation and I'm keen to prepare for CAT examination. I just wanted to know is it possible for someone from a different background to pass this exam and moreover qualify for the interview or will it be a hindrance for me because I also have 2 drops? Should I go for it ?

Hello Sir,

This is Shivansh here. I’m a student of the IMS CAT 25 batch. I didn't pay much attention to math in school, and now I'm finding it difficult to grasp the concepts. What should my preparation strategy be? Should I solve NCERT books from grades 6-10, or will reading the module notes, watching pre-class concept videos, and practicing exercises suffice?

For example, in this question:

Q) 72 hens cost Rs. 96.7. What does each hen cost, where the two digits in place of ‘__’ are not visible or are written in illegible handwriting?

I was completely blank. Later, after watching the solution video, I learned we need to use the concept of missing digits. After some research, I found that this topic was explained in the NCERT books from grades 6-10.

So, what strategy should I use? Should I first solve the NCERT books and then approach the module, or should I refer to the module and build my concepts by doing the questions in the module?

Additionally, do CAT questions each year revolve around the same concepts with only the values changing? Will I be able to solve CAT problems if I memorize the concepts of different types of questions from different topics (in-class exercises, practice exercises, SIM CATs) by watching video solutions?
