Having to vote is a great way to get everyone to pay more attention to local and national issues. And there’s usually sausage sizzles where you vote 👍😊

So far, I have never seen a single Australian who has watched this video before, ever having heard of "rent a grandma".

Number 15 - my husband’s grandfather was the police officer who chased de Groote and arrested him after he cut the ribbon on the Sydney harbour opening ceremony.

The dont put signs of animals etc up just for the hell of it or to entertain people. Its to warn people that those animals are common in those areas so be careful when driving so you dont hit them.
You definitely cannot destroy money like that.

The comment about compulsory voting left out the fact that you don`t have to vote. You only have to show up at the polling centre and have your name crossed off the list and then you can vote or not.

😂cockroach racing. Might be a thing somewhere but not in all of Australia. I remember that we use to race buchi boys (unsure of the spelling) during school lunch break. It’s a harmless bug found in the grass, but that was about it.

Australian bank notes are extremely difficult to tear as they are plastic. Torn or damaged notes can't be used and are not legal tender - however, torn and damaged notes can be replaced but you have to take them to the reserve bank of australia office - of which there are only 6 on the entire continent (+ 1 office in New York and 1 in London). torn notes are replaced at the value of the remaining percentage e.g. half of a $10 is replaced by 5$ - this only applies when 20-80% of the note remains. - more than 80% they replace the note entirely.

YES. We have too vote every Federal, State, and local Government elections, but we get a bigger choice of Political parties than the U.S. It's easier small parties get elected as well as major parties.

It's mandatory for us to vote, yes. Or rather it's mandatory to show up and get crossed off the list, what someone puts on the voting slip can be anything but since you are there why not vote?

Hey mate I’m not sure about that using half a $10 as a $5, never heard of that before. Also he said “the island nation of Tasmania, Tasmania isn’t a nation, it’s actually just a state of Australia, just not attached to the mainland 👍🏻🇦🇺

Here in the Adelaide hills we have the HUGE wooden Rocking horse....its at a local woodworking toy shop. A very popular place for families and kids to visit and buy wood toys. Also roads between places in remote areas often have rumble strips . sections of the road have rough surfaces that make the car rumble and shake for about 20 metres to keep you awake. OR sections of the road have rumble edges so if you doze off, the car veering off the road, the noise wakes you up. BUT BUT BUT. You CANNOT break money in half...hes full of shit there, the "rent a granny was a social scheme that failed, very few of us have ever eaten kangaroo - its so low in fat its tough and not very nice,

If you get vegemite don't overdo the dosage!! Try a thin smear on a slice of avocado. A thin smear under grilled cheese on toast... you will be hooked! We have had a jar of vegemite last for many years using it every morning on toast with sliced tomato.

Every household in Australia has an Electric Kettle (some use gas) to boil water, Australia uses 240 volts, America has 120 volts which takes too long

There is so much wrong with the original video, I'm sure most Australians are screaming at their screens.

The roads signs of animals are genuine warning signs that the animals shown could be on the road. Aside from the fact that we don't like our protected native animals getting killed by vehicles on the road, some of them can do some serious damage to cars.

Ugg boots is a very sore point between Australia and the USA. By law, a common use word can't be trademarked. Like, Apple can be used for a computer brand, but it can't be trademarked by a company selling literal apples that grow on trees. In Australia, ugg is a type of boot, just like jeans are a type of pants. Ugg was never trademarked because it was a common word. It would be like trying to trademark the term shoes to sell shoes, it's simply not legal to do that. Thus, the word ugg wasn't trademarked... until a US company bought the largest Aussie company that made them and trademarked the name in the USA because over there it wasn't a common use word, so they got away with it... and then they started suing and forcing into bankruptcy and closure every other ugg boot making company in Australia for using the word ugg on their labels, advertising, or in their trading name. It's dirty business and we hate you all for it... kidding, we don't blame all American people, we blame and hate the American company that did it, they're downright dirty. They get all their products made cheap in China under near slave labour conditions and charge a fortune for the brand name. If you want real ugg boots, buy the genuine thing, made only in Australia, by a few small remaining companies that haven't been sued yet.

Deliberately tear a $10 note in half and you could get arrested for deliberately damaging legal currency and face a $5000 fine and/or two years in prison as it's a federal crime to do that.

Rent a Grandma isn't a thing in Australia, it's a thing in Los Angeles though.

Yes it's compulsory to vote in Australia. If you don't like any of the parties or candidates, just show up on voting day and have your name crossed off and put voting forms in ballot boxes without filling them in. That avoids any fine. Personally I think it's great we all have to vote. Much better representation of what the population thinks and wants. Besides, it's just an hour or less out of 1 day.
I find it hard to understand why US citizens who don't vote can expect changes. Numbers count. Anyone who doesn't vote really cannot complain when their favoured candidates don't make it. Simple really.

the whole world should have compulsory voting. its much fairer.

Did you know, in our state, we have huge signs that say "DONT BE A (then show a picture of a door handle - aka 'knob') - slang for dick. Or others have "DONT BE A ( picture of a rooster) - slang for cock. Aussies dont tolerate speeding, drinking while driving or phones while driving. And these are official Govt made and installed signs - big as life and visible a mile away. Im actually serious. I would show one to you if i could...theyre so funny. I know its illegal in the rest of the world BUT here they shame ppl for it - in advance AND often after the event.
