This is a piece done by Gregg Garrison on his radio show every Veterans Day, Memorial Day and 4th of July. It touches on what a Veteran is on so many levels, I clipped it out and put together a short video with some Veteran Day pictures. Thank you to all those have served. My time in the United States Navy were some of the most meaningful years of my life and made me who I am today. Thank you Veterans, Thank you.

It's not just a soldier who does all that, it is the Navy Sailor, The Airmen, Marine, Coast Guard who also does that for our country.

For all who haven't hear this definition of a veteran. A veteran is someone who when they enlist in the military gives the government a blank check payable for any amount up to & including their life. I know of no other job with this prerequisite. Many in my family have served WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam. Thanks to all now serving, those who have, and those who will in the future. FLY NAVY!!!

A Veteran is someone who honorably served in the military. It’s not where they served or what they did, as long as it was honorably. My dad was a Marine from 38-46 and served in the South Pacific. He passed before I turned 17 and never got to see me join the Marines in ‘68. Bu I served in Chu Lai 68-69 1st MAW.

When the nightmares come…. My sister, brother, and I served a combined 80 years. While we are now physically and sometimes mentally broken, we are proud and would do it all again! Sad that only 1700 people have given this video a thumbs up. Thank you for posting it though!

As a military wife I have always loved the poem at the end of this video. It is always the soldier who is responsible for your freedom. ❤

Great Video... to many people say "those that didn't go overseas or didn't see combat should not be classified as a vet".
Just because they found that person's worth more valuable doing other things, and they did other things, does not mean that the person did not agree to....

My country, my fellow citizens need me, I am willing to do what is needed to be done to protect them, honor them and ensure their rights.

The ones that were clerks in remote offices across the states, the ones that were supply personnel, the ones that fixed and upgraded machinery but never left the states, are still vets.

No they did not see front line combat. They still said "Put me where you need me, if it is on the front line, I will go, if it is filtering sewage I will go, if it is making sure packages get to the front line I will do it.

They all deserve the same respect.

It is the veteran who has paid the price for the rights and freedoms that too many take for granted.

I am not a hero, but I had the honor of serving with many heroes.

Freedom is not free, nor is it cheap.

We had a saying, "Honor above all else". Wearing the uniform of our military filled me with great pride. I volunteered to serve and I raised my hand and took an oath. A soldier doesn't fight because he hates what's in front of him, he fights because he loves what's behind him.
