YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE

YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE! I want you to know, no matter how old or young you are, YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE. You may not have fully succeeded just yet, but it simply may be a little early.

Think about it, maybe your time just hasn't hit yet. You may be busting your butt day in day out and thinking it's not getting you somewhere, it will. It may not happen now, it may not happen tomorrow but it can happen.

Chew on this, have you ever though about the professional athletes who are retired from the game by 30? Sure the've possibly made a lot of money but what do they do now? The grass is not always greener.

Would you rather struggle and finally find your way, or peaked too early and have to start back over from scratch?

YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE.

So true. I'm 27 and did nothing until 2 month ago. Now I started my video company and i'm happy to wake up every morning since then.

When I was young and wanted to be a photographer. But what you have said hits home. I am now actively doing it, even though sometimes I feel I suck. But I'm doing it and you are partly the reason, so positive all the time.

I'm damn near 60 years old, and my wife still thinks I'm a failure !
I get told that every day !
Gotta love the positive energy ! ! !

Wow! I’m tearing up. Thanks Fro! I just jumped into this photography bus and I needed that. Truly truly needed that.

Thanks for your words Jared. I really needed it right now. Just graduated and searching for something I am able to do. It's very hard to stay motivated, positive and to keep trusting in myself. You make me realize my time has not come yet. I need to bust my ass to get to success and a good job. Once again thank you Jared.

I'm 51 and am an artist. I've been working at my art for decades, but only recently was tempted to just give up. I know I have talent, but I can't quit my job yet. When I was tempted yesterday, all I felt was sad. No, I will NOT give up. I need to tweak marketing, be more present in the market, and just show up, because, like you said, it just hasn't happened yet. BUT, it is incredibly important to be consistent, be diligent, and have a goal, broken down to micro goals and stick to them. I can already see differences happening. Someone told me : 'Don't be shy.'
I say the same thing: your work is important. You are important and are the only one who can do what you do the way you do it, whoever you are. Same with me. I'm just keeping at it. It's not sexy. It's not fun sometimes, but it will yield fruit.

Recovering from failure makes you stronger. Keep pushing! We all have fallen before just get up and keep pushing. Never give up. A bunch of small steps = one big step. I always tell my friends when they mess up...”Congratulations you are not a robot”

Thanks for sharing this man. Been watching you since the beginning and there's some things I didn't even know until now (about you). I'm 42 now and have a 10 year recording studio career behind me to pursue what was my hobby, photography and now youtube. The point is, I burned out on the music production end. Went from loving my job and being self employed to hating it, mainly because I was sick of producing metal bands that mostly sounded the same haha. Switched gears to something that made me much happier and I'm still hustling to be successful 6 years later.

These kinds of kind and genuine video's are what made me subscribe five years ago. Refreshing. Thank you.

Thanks Jared. Being in this business is a struggle. It helps to be reminded that it gets better.

This is very inspiring and this is why that at 54 I went back to learning, photography evening classes at Uni, "Be a Part of and not Apart From" and you can still be individual...

Hey Jared, Thanks for this. I really needed to hear this. I feel that way a lot where I feel like I'm a failure because of my age and that I'm not very far along in life.

Jared, the new Mr. Rogers. Thank you for that kind and well-delivered message that transcends photography and applies to us all. I'm not joking, it was better than a hug.

Froknowslife. This was such a strong message man. Work hard and keep a growth mind set. I’m starting out at 30 and felt I wasted 10 years because I could have done this sooner but now I think about the present and the future.

Well said Jared. At 76, I'm still learning. I never expected things to come to me, but a lot a good and interesting people and opportunities came close enough that as long as I put in the energy, enthusiasm and effort I was able to benefit and eventually share with others. Even now, still an interesting challenge.
