I think the fact that some cars have a voiced GPS and some dont is very cool. Reminds me of when TomTom and Garmin had ads on TV all the time haha

I just started playing this again and the best early 2000s thing that made me laugh was the sound coming through the car speaker just before your phone rings.

I was a kid back when this got released in 2008 and honestly I had very little knowledge about the internet but I was still very much curious about it. I first discovered GTA IV accidentally. Man it was like an once in a lifetime experience. Like I couldn't grasp the concept of a fully interactive virtual world with those graphics. God time was good back then.

Not an iPod, that's a Zune.

Much like the Volt of auto world, they both had their lives cut short very abruptly... despite being MUCH better options than their direct alternatives (iPod and Prius).

GTA IV had better physics and details than GTA V ever did. The crashes and car damage was also light years ahead.

I recently finished the game for the first time (dealt with so much shit from save getting deleted to the game lagging its ass off) and I also had this realization that damn, there were no smartphones yet. It feels like they've been here forever but that's not the case. Yet tech developed so quickly it's wild.
