Here's a recap of all the songs that competed for Switzerland in Eurovision Song Contest from 1956 to 2024. Please, enjoy!

Switzerland has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 63 times since making its debut at the first contest in 1956, missing only four contests, in 1995, 1999, 2001 and 2003. Switzerland hosted the first contest in 1956 in Lugano, and won it. Switzerland won the contest again in 1988 and 2024.

Lys Assia won the first contest in 1956 with the song "Refrain". She returned to place second in 1958. Switzerland went on to finish second with Esther Ofarim (1963) and Daniela Simmons (1986) and third with Franca di Rienzo (1961) and Arlette Zola (1982), before winning the contest for the second time in 1988 with Céline Dion and the song "Ne partez pas sans moi". Annie Cotton gave the country its 15th top five result in 1993, when she placed third.

Since the introduction of the qualifying round in 1993, Switzerland has entered the top ten only four times. Since the introduction of the semi-final round in 2004, Switzerland have failed to reach the final in 11 of 19 contests, including finishing in last place in the semi-final on four occasions. Switzerland returned to the top five for the first time in 26 years when Luca Hänni gave the country its 16th top five result by finishing fourth in 2019, followed by its 17th top five finish, when Gjon's Tears placed third in 2021. The country won the contest for a third time in 2024, with Nemo and the song "The Code". It has also finished in last place in the semi-finals four times since their introduction in 2004, with Piero and the MusicStars (2004), Michael von der Heide (2010), Mélanie René (2015) and Rykka (2016).

2024 - a rare year where Swiss Eurovision fans can say they won both the first and most recent contest.

From a country that failed to qualify almost every year in the 2000s and 2010s, to an absolute powerhouse in the 2020s. Congrats Switzerland to a well-deserved win.

Switzerland went from being incredibly underrated through 2000's and 2010's. To an absolute powerhouse in the 2020's!

Gotta give credit to Luca Hanni and Gjon’s Tears for beginning the powerhouse run that Switzerland has had recently, very overdue win for them with Nemo too, great song!

Love how Switzerland was underrated the whole time until they made a comeback with Luca Hänni. Since then, Switzerland has dropped a banger after a banger. And then, there comes Nemo to finally take the win, congrats to them🇨🇭❤️

Switzerland meanwhile is another country that can say they were in every edition they could have been in. Yes, they may have been relegated, but they have never withdrawn since 1956. The others are Germany and Belgium.

You deserved it this year, dear Swiss fans!

Just like with Italy's 3 wins, the evolution of the contest between each of Switzerland's 3 wins is so incredibly big you wouldn't believe it's the same show.

No joke, this year the swiss song was my favorite in the semi-finals, but usually when i pick a favorite, it either gets the win snatched from in front of its eyes, or gets put near last place. this year i got so happy that my fav song won, but also felt bad for Croatia for being so close after having so many years with bad placements

Switzerland struggled with the finals so much, then Luca Hänni came and placed fourth in 2019. Now 2024, Nemo won for Switzerland.
Meanwhile, a couple of years ago, the Netherlands had the longest ever NQ streak. Then came Anouk and placed ninth. 6 years later Duncan Laurence took the win.
Basically all the proof needed that changing tactics works xD
