Best thing that works for me is Odoban. I buy the large jug of concentrated liquid and pour some down the drains (double sink in kitchen). Sometimes I pour the whole jug into them if they are particularly smelly. Works well for me.

I had those problems with my kitchen sick. What I watched I had my son do several things on this program. And it did work for us.

Your fav solution has come close to solving my problem. It is awful and I've spent about 75$ on three solutions that didn't touch it. Thank you.

I get bottled lemon juice 3 pack from Costco. When it smells funky, I just run hot water, turn it off and pour a little bit of the lemon juice. Let it sit then I go and turn on the hot water and garbage disposal at same time for a short rinse and voila! No funky smell! 😁😉🙌🙌🙌 I do this once a month.

Many times the odor is coming from your dishwasher hose connection.

For disposal blockage, I occasionally use Dawn dish detergent. Squeeze a liberal amount into to drain, a splash of water, a quick spin of the disposal, and it roughly cleans the side-slot grinders of the disposal (if that type). Seems to work better than trying to brush it.

I’ll try that; thank you. Our plumber said to just clean the nasty rubber thing, but it didn’t help the smell.

I use the baking soda vinegar method AND I save used juiced lemons cut into quarters in my freezer. I use the frozen lemon bits instead of ice to grind/clean the disposer blades

Thanks for this tip! I went with the baking soda, vinegar and a pot of boiling water. It seemed to do the trick. I also use a pipe brush that looks like a baby bottle brush only bigger and using some Dawn dishwashing soap I was able to clean the sides of the pipe going up and down all around pipe. The Dawn cut the sludge and built up grease like crazy. I shined a light down into the drain and you could clearly see where the baking soda, vinegar, pipe brush and Dawn did the trick. Smell is gone! Thanks big time!

Hello! I would like to know how to clean and deodorize the other side of the sink, the one without the disposal? Is there a way to remove the inner stainless steel piece that prevents one from putting a brush down into it? Thanks for any information!

Baking soda and vinegar worked like a charm and lemon juice afterward. So fresh. Now.

I usually brush my teeth and rinse with mouthwash in my kitchen sink twice a day so that should help somewhat. By the way, my sink does not smell terribly bad and the garbage disposal is separate from the sink.

I tried the vinegar and baking soda, it still has a nasty order. The bleach is not recommended on septic systems, thanks anyway.

Have you ever tried lemon 'n' vinegar ice cubes? They are perfect for cleaning and deodorizing your garbage disposer?
