spen if you hit 2 people with mandy's super you still get it back currently btw. but if you hit one enemy you need three more hits so this is a very large buff

I like that they are testing the waters with a new Charge rate for Hypercharges. Might be a potential way to fix some broken brawlers in the future if their hypercharges become a big issue

they shouldve just nerfed maisies hypercharge and made her super charge from 3 hits again, she wasnt broken before hc and nerfing main kit cause hc made a brawler op is so dumb

Still can’t believe they didn’t call the new Chester Star Power “Beginners Luck”

It's strange they didn't buff Chester's super that slows the opponents, it's almost useless

People seem to forget that Frank is a tank, and tanks need walls. Franks hypercharge super just obliterates half the cover in the entire map.

Honestly the biggest L of the update is not giving Doug Berry's trait.

These changes are honestly kind of insane, so here are all my thoughts.

Brock - Great Change

Brock’s HC was pretty underwhelming before, but this change will make his HC a lot better. Not only will he be able to deal considerable damage now to enemies now, but he will also be able to actually deal some good damage to the Heist safe (around 20%). His HC will actually be pretty strong now unlike before.

Lily - Insane Change. C —> S tier

Lily was pretty underwhelming before, but now she will be absolutely crazy. With that crazy unload speed and two ammo, she will be able to deal insane burst damage. Combined with her Super and 1st Star Power, she will be able to deal 8k damage in the blink of an eye. While her short range still hurts her, her Super and Vanish gadget will more or less solve that problem.

Janet - Slight Change. D- —> D tier

While this change certainly changes a few interactions such as being able to 3 shot 6k health brawlers, it is still only a 2% damage buff and does not solve any of her big issues. While I think Janet will be a little better, this won’t make much of an impact for her.

Mandy - Great Change. C- —> B tier

This is a great buff for Mandy. Mandy was falling out of the meta because she was being overshadowed by other sharpshooters and easily overpowered, even on long range maps. However, with this buff, she will be able to compete more easily as she can now cycle Supers more frequently and make more game-changing plays.

Draco - Decent Change. S —> A+ tier

While this change will hopefully tone down Draco and make him easier to deal with in his dragon form, he will still be very strong. He is still difficult to take down and with his dragon form, he is still going to be very oppressive. He can still cycle Supers quite frequently and with his 2nd Star Power and Gadget, he will still be a very strong and tanky brawler.

Angelo - Good Change. S —> A tier

These changes will definitely tone Angelo down quite a lot. Not only will he not be able to cycle Supers nearly as frequently as before, but he will also deal considerably less damage, especially considering he won’t get Supers as frequently. While 4000 damage is still a lot, he won’t be nearly as oppressive as before. However, he still has a very fast movement speed and his HC is insane, so he will still be a strong brawler, especially on maps with water.

Charlie - Good Change. S- —> A- tier

These changes will definitely affect Charlie quite a lot. While she is still a great tank counter and her Super is game-changing, she will be much less effective against low-health brawlers. She won’t be able to even 3 shot Piper anymore or 4 shot 6400 health brawlers. Her Spiders Gadget is also going to be much worse in Heist and less effective in general. While it is still going to be great at tanking damage, scouting bushes, and finishing off Cocooned enemies, it won’t be as annoying as before. Her HC is also going to be worse than before bc of this change. Her 2nd gadget might pick up more usage now as she can tank a lot of damage with it (even against piercing enemies) and also heal.

Sandy - Good Change. S —> A tier

Sandy was very oppressive, especially since he could cycle his HC very fast. Before, it took only 10 hits to get HC which was absolutely insane, considering how crazy his HC is. However, now it will take an entire 5 more hits to get HC which will make much less oppressive. While his HC is still insane, he will be getting it much less frequently which will make him a lot easier to deal with, considering he can’t make as many game-changing plays.

Rico - Great Change.

Rico has been a relatively balanced brawler, strong on some maps while weaker on others. However, his Multiball Launcher Gadget has been OP, being able to deal around 2000 damage even at long range. It could allow him to finish of kills way too easily at mid-long ranges while dealing insane damage at close range. This change makes his gadget not nearly as oppressive as before as he won’t be able to deal nearly as much damage at mid-long ranges. While he will still deal insane damage at close range against tanks and assassins, his gadget won’t be nearly as OP anymore.

Kit - Slight Change

While Kit is still going to very strong in Knockout, and a solid pick in Bounty and Brawl Ball, this change will hopefully tone him down in Showdown where he is absolutely insane. The damage buff just made him SO toxic in Showdown, especially combined with Power Hungry. This change will make him slightly easier to deal with, but it probably would have been better to just completely rework Power Hungry. He can still deal a lot of damage and he will still be a very strong brawler in Showdown, only slightly worse than before.

Melodie - Decent Change. S —> A+ tier

While Melodie is still going to be a very strong brawler, this change will hopefully slowly make her worse in the meta. Pearl also got a similar health nerf in the past and she also gradually fell off, especially after getting a 2nd nerf to her gadget. While this nerf will make Melodie easier to deal with and will mean that she can’t rush into enemies like before, she will still be very strong bc of her notes, Super, and Interlude Gadget. Having 3 dashes is still insane and she will still be OP in Heist and Brawl Ball. While she will have to use her Gadget a bit more now, until she gets a nerf to her dash distance, note damage, or just something more, she will still be a very strong brawler.

Frank - Insane Rework. F —> S tier

Frank’s new mechanic makes him really strong, especially once he reaches below 50% health. At low health, he will be absolutely insane, being able to spam out attacks relentlessly. As long as he can get close to enemies, they are done for. His HC is absolutely insane as well, allowing his Super to become basically impossible to dodge, unless they interrupt him. Paired with his 1st gadget, he could become impossible to counter as no one would be able to interrupt his Super, and with his 2nd gadget, he could get kills ridiculously fast. Paired with his Power Grab Star Power, he would just be absurd, being able to chain kills, and on bushy maps or on closed maps, he would be one of the best brawlers. Combined with the Speed Gear, he would be the best brawler in Brawl Ball. In Hot Zone, Heist, and even Gem Grab, he would also be a really strong brawler. Frank finally has his time to shine and he will probably need to get emergency nerfed soon after the update drops.

Meg - Mixed Rework. Casual: B —> S tier Competitive: A —> B tier

The problem with Meg is that she has always been a boring brawler with low play rates, but high win rates. This is bc she is considered a boring, mid brawler for casual players while being a strong pick with great lane presence and a great chip damage attack in the competitive scene. While this rework will certainly make Meg very strong and a lot more fun to play for casual players as she can deal more damage now bc she shoots 4 waves instead of 2 and she has more health (which no one seems to have noticed), she will not be nearly as good in the competitive scene. This is bc she can’t deal consistent chip damage anymore (especially with auto-aim) due to the damage nerf and attack rework and she doesn’t have nearly as much range as before. While Meg used to be a strong pick in Knockout and Bounty with high win rates, not being able to chip at sharpshooters anymore and having to get close up to deal damage is certainly going to hurt her in the long run on the long range maps she used to thrive on. So for casual players, amazing rework, but for competitive players, probably not nearly as strong.

Chester - Great Rework. D —> B tier

While this rework actually won’t make Chester super strong, it will definitely make him a lot more fun to play and a pretty good brawler. Making the four-bell attack baseline makes him a lot better to play as he doesn’t have to rely on his Star Power anymore. Also, one of Chester’s problems was that his 1st bell attack was always underwhelming, but his new Star Power fixes that issue by doubling the damage of his 1st bell. While Sneak Peek is unfortunately still trash, this rework will definitely make him a much better brawler overall.
