Maj. Gen. Edelstein recently officially retired as a career officer, although he is still often called up for active reserve duty.

The creative and thoughtful former Infantry, Paratrooper and Commando leader. His command as high as Brigade and Division levels of special ground, air and other troops included battle in Lebanon, leadership of two major operations in Gaza, and the generation of an organizational reform in the Special Forces community.

He also held a central role in strengthening the Israeli military’s relations with the Pentagon during his service as the IDF Military Attaché to the United States.
