Warring and fighting between clans or tribes is an important evolutionary benefit, it prevents overpopulation of the species which would result in resources being depleted too quickly.

It is why common chimpanzees are more violent than bonobos, common chimpanzees live in an area in which they must compete a lot more for food, whereas the area in which bonobos live is abundant with food with little competition from other animals.

@maximusTLP What I meant was that we should not be so arrogant as to think we are the most intelligent. Intelligence is extremely hard to measure even among ourselves. Heck, we are discovering that more and more animals that we share this world with are self-aware.

Thank you for replying. Have you seen the recent conclusions regarding dolphin intelligence? They are now regarded as second after humans (as of 2009).

Some scientists are now calling for their status be upgraded to "non-human persons".

@Adominae About time we realized we aren't the only sapient species on Earth. Maybe giving dolphins nonhuman person status would help other humans to realize we need to take better care of our habitat, the Earth.

How can you be so arrogant as to assume that we are the most intelligent species on Earth? We just happen to have the ability to manipulate our environment or destroy it (as is the case in the Gulf right now). We think we're so special that we base the measure of intelligence on our own which is inherently biased.

You are certainly entitled to your opinions but it would be prudent if you included a disclaimer, ie, there is no way to tell for sure at the current time.

They have more "Ram" processors in their brains. If a computer is heavier than another, but has a better and bigger CPU, it is a better but heavier computer in terms of it's "intelligence".
