Python Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) - Getting Started

In this tutorial we will discuss how to get started with programming in Python and some of the tools that can be used such as IDEs (integrated development environments), text editors, etc.

A few of the popular IDEs and text editors, etc. include: Jupyter Notebooks, JupyterLab, Visual Studio Code, Atom, Spyder, PyCharm, Sublime Text.

If you don't want to download an IDE or text editor, some online options include replit and google colab. Some options for iPad/iPhone include apps such as Juno and Pythonista.

Note that Python comes preinstalled on many computers however newer versions of the language and IDLE may need to be installed. This may change in the future - python may not come installed.
