Nosotros siempre escuchábamos a Eddie Palmieri, porque además de ser de los mayores referentes de la historia de la música de PR dentro de los géneros cubanos, sabíamos que habría algún tamborero del mayor virtuosismo acompañándole.

Eddie es el pianista rumbero, ya que sus arreglos y estilo de tocar siempre incluyen un protagonismo de tambor e interacción con el tambor.

Aquí nuestro homenaje agradecido por el legado de Eddie Palmieri (sin olvidar a su hermano Charlie) junto a todos los tamboreros que escuchamos en su música y nos estimularon a ser lo que somos hoy.

I’m a Puerto Rican raised partially in New York and then in Souther California- I was Very Unfortunately Not raised to speak Spanish, But I grew up with Good Puerto Rican Food and SALSA- My father was a Latin Jazz musician and my mother a jazz singer- They are Both gone now, But This Music Keeps them alive in my Heart Forever- Im So Incredibly Glad that I came across this channel, Especially bc these are some of THE Most Incredible Salsa musicians that I’ve Ever seen, but also bc it Reminds me Who I am and The Puerto Rican Blood that runs through my veins- My Mom and I had always planned to go to Puerto Rico and I Really Hope that Someday, I’ll still get to- I Need to see and experience where my family and my people come from
