Aww Biz, I'm LOVING that you are loving the Talking Heads so much!!🙃 They were a huge musical influence on me in my pre-teens/early teens. Their music is so much fun! I'm a lyric girl at heart but with this group, the lyrics weren't really important... their music is simply a vibe!!! Glad ur loving their little catalogue!🥰

One of the most fun videos from the MTV era, Talking Heads were just a ton of fun to watch and listen to. John Goodman was in a lot of movies, besides "Cloverfield". :"Everybody's All American", "Raising Arizona", "JFK" and "The Big Lebowski" to name a few. It's a Wild Wild Life, Yeehah.

I really like your take on the T-Heads. One of the greatest post-punk bands and highly innovative, and they influenced so much other music after them.

It's fun figuring out who the singers at the microphone are supposed to be. Sometimes it's real celebrities, like John Goodman and the late comic Sam Kinison, sometimes its the band members as themselves, other times it's the bandmembers imitating celebrities who were well known at the time, like The Karate Kid, Prince, Apollonia, Billy Idol and Madonna. And sometimes it's just unknowns. The two shocked ladies in the audience may be First Lady Nancy Reagan (who always wore red) and Tipper Gore (who briefly led a failed movement to get rocks songs rated (like movies).

Life During Wartime from their iconic concert movie Stop Making Sense. The studio track of the same song from their brilliant 1978 Fear of Music album produced by Brian Eno is also really good, just a bit more stripped-down than the concert version.

David Byrne got George Clinton's dude from Funkadelic/parliament/Bootsy Collins, damn ... Ummm, ya! Bernie Worrell!! To record and do their live shows. You don't see Bernie in this but he was hired for a good reason. Dude was classically trained on piano. I talked to George Clinton and asked him about Bernie. George said he was "expensive";but well worth it.
