It's a breath of fresh air listening to his gracious comments toward ProfessorDave made by James Tour, clearly a Scientist and Professor of the highest order., Being also subscribed to ProfessorDave I can easily see the stark contrast between these 2 men's behaviours. Out of respect for James Tour I will be restrained in my comments about ProfessorDave's behaviour and the quality of his work???? I recommend people to review ProfDave's videos and note this for themselves.

Writing as a chemist, although hardly one of J T's ability, it is evident to me that the real problem, apart from a disbelief in a Creator, is that people not trained in organic chemistry really have no idea of the meaning and importance of mechanism and thermodynamics (energy flow) in reactions, and how this imposes direction and constricts the results. This was so clear in the case of Cronin in another of Tour's presentation, who admitted that he wasn't an organic chemist, although even he should have been aware of the constraints of thermodynamics.

I can tell you for a fact that in 1995 in my college biology 101 class, the primordial soup and lightning model was taught verbatim as you have described here. I asked my new, bright, young professor (no T/A's at this school) whether this had been reproduced in the lab anywhere, and if not did she think it would be. "No, to date it has not been reproduced, but that is not to suggest that it can't be." This was City College at Santa Barbara, CA. At that time the earth sciences faculty was all in for evolution and the primordial soup model was it's center piece in Bio101. I was an adult going back to school at that time and I was not going to sit through my classes like the children around me who would hang on every word the Prof. spoke. The professors know exactly how pliable their students are.
